What I've learned about developing a research study is that it takes a lot of time and planning. It's not just something that you can come up with the day before it's due. Time management and planning out what you're going to do, how, and when is so important. It's taught me that I cannot be the procrastinator that I've always been. I've just been getting by by the skin of my teeth by doing everything last minute. I need to start planning and time managing better.
After looking at Dr. B's edits on my literature review, I realize that there are some things that I will need to revisit and relearn. I feel like sometimes, as a senior English major, let alone a Prof Tech major, I get cocky and proud about my writing. It's humbling to realize that there will always be something to work on. In my case, I may need to review my in-text citations and do a better job at reviewing my own work for grammar errors. Moving forward, I think these will all be very simple and easy fixes that make my paper stronger. I look forward to seeing where I can take this paper through the Research Proposal and finally, my capstone project.
